The plastic tarp is off the couch. Inky has a new home. The nice lady, in her sixties, lives alone in a cute house by a lake. We knew this was the right person when she told us that her former black cat was named Binky. On the way there, Inky left me a present on the back seat of my car by spraying through the openings in the cage.
The sheet rock is up on the larger part of the wall.
Yesterday, we had Stacy's parents over for a bar-b-cue. Boneless pork ribs and chicken covered in Jack Daniel's Bar-b-cue sauce #7, hot Italian sausage, tabouli, potato salad, grilled Portabello mushrooms, zucchini, and eggplant. For desert, blueberries and strawberries in whipped cream (red, white, and blue).
What did you do on Memorial Day?

OK, Scott, is this a question I'm allowed to answer? ;-)
We spent the weekend doing things around the house. We got a new ceiling fan for the living room and installed it. Greg's doing a lot of work in the front yard clearing out some overgrown shrubs and removing some once-decorative but now delapidated bricks which a previous owner had around the edges of the driveway (and the concrete they were set in). The front yard is looking a lot better. The weather has definitely gotten warmer—mid 90s. Greg's mom came over in the afternoon yesterday and I bbq'd some steaks.
Melanie, so much for your refusal to answer any more questions. That lasted.
How long have you guys been in your house? Sounds like you're doing a lot of work getting rid of previous owners left-overs. Did the new wood for the floor get delivered (or is that still a sore subject)? Greg does sound very handy.
Here is a question for you to answer: What bugs you about Greg (we already heard from Caryn about Bob - remember she can't stand when he surprises her by moving something on the coffee table without her approval).
Scott,
Just for the record, I know the answers to the questions you asked Joshua and I'm resisting the urge to answer you. :-P
We've been in our house for 19 years, so some of the things that were fine when we moved in are either no longer what we'd like or have lived past their prime. The wood did get delivered last Thursday. YAY! It is "acclimating" in the room where it will be installed on Thursday this week. Then the floor guy wants it to settle for another week before he comes in to refinish the existing wood and finish the new wood to match each other.
Now, as for your question about Greg...my first answer would have been absolutely nothing bugs me about Greg. After almost 25 years of marriage, we pretty much don't bicker anymore. I guess we long since figured out what is and is not worth a fight. We also know each other so well, and think so highly of each other, and probably most of all have a really huge soft spot and love for each other. I know, I'm gonna make you gag now. But I did manage to think of one thing that bugs me...when he uses my household things for unauthorized "man work" uses, like using a towel for a shop rag or my vacuum for a shop vac. I have a wonderful vacuum called a Rainbow which is a canister-type and it filters through a basin of water. It might be similar in appearance to a shop vac but it is NOT a shop vac! :-)
