How I Spent Father's Day
What does it mean if you get a chaise-lounge so you can nap on the patio for Father's Day? Stacy and Ben provided me a lovely Father's Day brunch: bagels, cream/chive cheese, juice, coffee, lox, whitefish salad, sliced bermuda onion, tomato, and cucumber, Danish for desert, and the newspaper to browse. It was a beautiful morning, cool with a blue cloudless sky. You just can't get better than this. Later, Stacy and I took one of our wandering drives through startlingly picturesque rural farmlands in the piedmonts (foothills, love that word "piedmont") of the Catskill Mountains. Our map target included the towns of Minerva, Surprise, and Climax. How did you spend Father's Day? Did your dad (or you) get a present or two?
