Lucy, I'm home

Hi everyone,
We got back from our cruise this morning. It was wonderful. We had such a great time, we didn't want to come home. However, I have already had 2 naps today! There was so much to choose from to do each day, at any hour of the day and into the night. The cruise staff dote on your every wish and really pamper you. The food was fabulous and such a variety! At each port, we did get off and go on one of the several "shore excursions" offered.

In San Diego, we took a 2-hour cruise of the harbor. We have spent time in San Diego before so we wanted to do something we had not done on any of our previous visits. We enjoyed that very much.

In Catalina we took Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, er, I mean, a tour bus ride called The Skyline Drive Tour. I wish I could describe this well enough to make you feel like you had been on that one with us! The tour bus was very different than I expected. It was actually a semi truck but the trailer part was a bus seating section. And that guy didn't have any qualms about the windy, mountainous road he was barreling along as he made his way to the 1600 ft. elevation at the top. But the scenery was breathtaking and we definitely have a story to tell on that one!

We toured a winery in Ensenada which is the largest in Mexico. The tour bus took us to the vineyards, out toward the foothills, about a 40 minute drive. The area was really pretty. We were treated to a wine tasting as well. We tried 2 reds and 2 whites. Then they broke out some of their special reserve cabernet which was really a lovely wine. And to top it all off, they gave us a taste of the tequila and brandy they also distill there. That was all before 10:30 am!! We snoozed on the bus ride back to town, where we promptly got some fish tacos to perk us up. Did some shopping, looking for bargains but I think they are onto "us" down there these days. There were no bargains to be found.

We had such a good time, we are planning to do this again.
