Granddad. Do you know the story of his last night?

How many of you remember how Grandad turned over a coin on his wrist? How many of you are old enough to remember what a great cook and baker you Granny was? Her daughters were pretty good too but she was the queen. I want to read about the memories you have and the wonderful holidays. Do you tell those stories to your children? I hope so. I always did. Because I was the youngest so were my children. Unfortunately they only remember Granny being ill and not being able to see. Jeffrey remembers some of the holidays but I told him so many stories that I am sure that he feels that he was there as well as Lori.

Just months before Grandad passsed away it was Lori's graduation from college. I brought Grandad up from Florida so that he could spend the time with us and I got a room for him amd my mother-in-law {separately } so that they could be there for her graduation from American Univ. It was such a great weekend and one I won't forget because after that it was downhill for Grandad. Jeff took everyone out to a great restaurant for Lori's graduation dinner and it really was a terrific evening.

A follow up to this story is the timing of Grandad's passing. His beloved Red Sox were playing the N.Y. Mets in the World Series. Grandad was in the Intensive Care Unit of the Hosp. with heart failure and it was just a matter of time. Televisions were not permitted in I.C.U. but he insisted that he had to see his Red Sox in the World Series. He told them to bring him a T.V. so that he could watch the game and he did not need the sound. He could see the score and what was going on even if it was mute. They adhered to his wishes and he watched the game. He was quite a persuasive man. The Red Sox lost the World Series and Grandad was gone the following morning. TRUE STORY......
