Saying hello

Just learned on the blog that Miltie and Kathy have a place in Vermont. What part of Vermont? We have a house on Bromley Mountain, just outside of Manchester, Vermont and wanted to know if he was near me.

On August 22cnd, I was playing golf at Manchester Golf Course (the best I could play) and although it rained quite heavily, I continued to play, not wanting to break my momentum. On the 17th hole, my friend hit her drive down a hill and rather than using the golf path, I drove my golf cart down the hill, on the wet grass, to retrieve her ball. The cart began to hydroplane and spin like a top and the long and short of it is that I was thrown from the cart and fractured my back. I do consider myself very lucky - it certainly could have been much, much worse.

I sent an audition tape to The Flying Wallendas. I naturally assumed that the art of flying through the air approximately 6 feet from a hydroplaning, spinning golf cart would empress the admissions committee and guarantee me a position as an aerialist in their organization. Alas, I was mistaken. Although I was awarded a 9.9 for my stupendous flight performance, I was rejected, because they prefer a foot landing to a back landing. I am appealing their decision.

In truth, when leaving the cart, I felt as though I was a rolling ball; then a boulder; then a mudslide and finally a cliff tumbling into the sea.

A reunion sound like great fun. Vermont is certainly one suggestion.

Also, sometime after my accident, while I was still in Vermont, Debra Rattet, (from Boston) found me. She had rented a condo on the other side of the pond that is in the back of my house. I met her 2 boys and her husband. It was so much fun.

Good to hear from you. I am not such a great golfer (27 handicap), but I am absolutely addicted to the game. BUT on that particular day I shot a 43 on the front 9 and had a 31 going into 17 with the best drive, ever. Actually, I fractured my back, but hopefully, I will be ok. Planning a trip to Macchu Picchu, Peru in October and I'm planning to go - broken back or not.

Where is Miltie in Vermont - near me?

21 is a pretty good handicap. How often to you play? Problem with me is that I only play from June to September. If we come to Florida I will call - where are you in Florida?

Stratton is right near me. We have a house on Bromley. 802-824-4331. Is he still there this time of year? Maybe I'll give him a call or ask him to call me. We're going up again next weekend. G
