Hi everyone,
We are having a great visit with Jake & Dulcie. We've gone to the paint your own pottery shop and hopefully our pieces will be finished (fired) just before they leave. We've played a lot of board games and a few hysterical rounds of a card game called "B.S."
Saturday night, Jake spent the night at Joshua's and his girlfriend, Erin accepted Dulcie's invitation for a sleepover at our house. Rumor has it that the girls went out at midnight to Joshua's and "toilet papered" his front yard, complete with little paper umbrellas stuck all over in the grass, and pastel colored streamers hanging in the trees. Joshua & Jake have decided the best revenge is to not mention it and drive them crazy wondering what form revenge will take, and their plan seems to be working.
Today I needed to go into work so Joshua and Erin took the kids to a water amusement park about 75 miles from here. I'm waiting for them to arrive any moment and tell me all about their adventures.
Wednesday we are going to the coast just north of Santa Barbara for a 1.5 hour trail ride. Then we are heading just a few miles south to go boogie boarding. Auntie Melanie will not be missing that trip! You all say a prayer for me, I haven't ridden a horse since I was 15. I do love to boogie board.

*Sigh*...we took Jake & Dulcie to the airport yesterday at 5 pm. The house is so empty and quiet! Jenny & Chris were here from Wednesday night until yesterday also. Friday night Joshua slept on the couch and Erin bunked in with Dulcie so we had an all family slumber party. What an incredible pleasure. Two dozen eggs and 3 dozen sausages were consumed on Saturday morning!
The trip to Santa Barbara for horseback riding was awesome. We rode up into the mountains and had a spectacular view all the way to the ocean. There was a lot of laughing and giggling. Jake & Dulcie had never boogie boarded and they really enjoyed that. They were amazed to see their Auntie Melanie riding in on waves and cracking up laughing. They told me this was a side of me they had not seen before. Too funny. There is a side of me that had not seen a horse in over 30 years that got really sore but I would do it again in a minute. A fabulously fun day and great memory!
