What happened today.

A girl fainted in my drawing class today. She was sitting on the floor, went limp and rolled back, eyes open. My class is adjacent to the front door security guard. He called 911. She lay unconscious for about two minutes during which time I was in a state of hyper alertness (panic) trying to decide whether or not to perform CPR. She appeared to be breathing and my own pulse was pounding so hard I couldn't find hers. The college EMT appeared in about three minutes and took over. She spontaneously revived. The fire department arrived a few minutes later. By this time she was fully conscious, but shaking and clammy. No history of illness and she had had breakfast. They took her to the local hospital. First time in twenty five years of teaching. I think she is fine now.

This also happened today: I got in my car late this afternoon to find that it smelled really bad. Under the passenger seat was a squishy green pepper that had rolled out of a grocery bag several days ago.

I was already cracking up about the bell pepper in Scott's car, and now that tidbit from Jenny is hilarious too.

Greg has a pickup truck and I hate to take it to the grocery store for that very reason. Things roll out of the plastic bags and under the toolbox at the back of the pickup bed. One time I went to the store and the next day realized all my yogurts were missing. Sure enough, they were at the back of the pickup hiding.

Jenny, thanks for the advice about letting small animals sniff around for food items every so often. Problem is that I have no small animals (thankfully - by the way, word is that Inky is doing just fine).

Melanie, yeah, those plastic grocery bags just flop over and let everything roll out. Paper bags stand up but are too hard to carry. I do the paper in plastic so the bags stay upright in the trunk (usually) and I can carry many at a time. I know it isn't very conservational and Ben told me that the baggers in grocery stores (he was one) just hate THOSE PEOPLE who insist on double bagging.

Aunt Saundra, you're a genius! She might be pregnant.
